Kesher Chofetz Chaim.

The analogy: This was once told to me like a wire beside an antenna but not touching. There won't be any reception!

The Solution:

This is not a new solution but actually is what is preferred by the Chufetz Chaim. The knot is actually tied in place by the strap itself. Also you don't have to worry about it fitting into the plastic cases because with our new Kufsahod it is no problem.

It is called:

Kesher Chofetz Chaim.
Named after Rabbi Israel Meir Kagan, The Chofetz Chaim (1838-1933)

The problem:

In short: As a result of wrapping inwardly the kesher shel yud becomes in a situation where it is no longer touching the Tefillin.
In long: According to the custom of the Litvaks and some other Ashkenazim the kesher shel yud (the knot on the arm Tefillin) and the loop are on the same side of the Tefillin. When you tie the Tefillin on your arm, making that little twist after the blessing then wind the strap under the arm and wrap in a counter-clock-wise motion you pull the knot away from the Ketsehsah (the cube of the Tefillin) and without precaution cause the kesher shel yud to be in a situation where it is no longer touching the Ketsehsah.

Kesher Not Like The Chofetz Chaim.
